Robert Mitchell is an entrepreneur and crowdfunding pioneer who has been involved with Crowdfund Investing since its inception. He was an initial skeptic of crowd finance who later became an advocate and joined the team of friends who crafted the legislative framework used in the Jumpstart Our Business Startups Act (J.O.B.S. Act) that brought crowdfund investing to the United States. President Obama signed the JOBS Act into law in 2012 ushering in the era of debt and equity crowdfunding.
The CCA team has since visited over 20 countries consulting with policy makers, regulators, government officials and other stakeholders on their crowdfunding initiatives. Robert represented Crowdfund Capital Advisors at the World Bank’s 5th Global Forum on Innovation & Technology Entrepreneurship in East London South Africa where the team presented their initial research done for the World Bank on the global emergence of crowd finance. He recently participated in the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as part of the team speaking about this new source of capital for entrepreneurs and small businesses. Prior to joining CCA, Robert had successful careers in professional services, technology, and real estate.
Robert earned his MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, the world’s #1 ranked school of international business, and Bachelors degree from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
